In a word, YES. If you are looking for a stand alone amp to get it , totally. That sucker will be heavy so be warned.

Many will remind that Jerry tapped out his pre-amp to use a solid state poweramp, very true but not in the early days and I think that component is only a big deal when on larger stages and when you are really pushing the amp to killer volumes because you can't get your guitar in the monitor and everyone is playing super loud and you are not in the line of sight with your amp.

Also, it's a very good deal considering it's loaded with JBL's!

This is not the amp you are looking for. You definitely should not get this amp. You should definitely forget all about ever seeing this amp on CL. At least long enough for me to drive to NY and snatch it up for myself.

And you've got a good shot at being an AB763 amp. At the very least it'll require very few & simple changes to retrofit.

Those JBL's are going to make it heavy...like dead guy heavy. I have a Deluxe with one D120. That's not even fun to carry 10 blocks.

But it'll be cool. And loud!

By 68 (which I believe it is due to the drip edge) the Twins and Dual Showmans were already fitted with the suppression caps and resistors over the poweramp tubes. A decent tech can have that undone and tuned up in under an hour and we all know how important it is to take used amps to techs before the stage!

Some of the best advise I ever got was "you don't steal in slow motion".

I don't know why you'd want that thing. It's only the holy grail of Jerry tone. Can be used as an amp, a preamp, JBL's are worth $500 by themselves. Seriously, everything about that is desirable, even if it needs a little bit of work. It's the shit. The price is insane. Steal it while you can. Someone's gonna score big time.

That is a decent/low price for a mid 70's Twin Reverb without JBLs. Total score. You'll be happy with it (but it might need a cap job).

Multiple emails now and the guy isn't responding anymore. Either one of 3 things.

1) He sold it before I got the addy to go meet him
2) He's just busy and will get to me
3) He's been bitten by a zombie. In that case, I hope he still can email me his addy. As one good head shot will dramatically change the price negotiation.
