Hi all,

I want to thank all of you regular contributors for posting the amazing material that you do!!! I've gotta think there's a ton of lurkers (like I've been for years) out there that enjoy this site without ever chiming in - from all of us a BIG THANK YOU!!! This community has been in invaluable resource when it comes to working out the finer points in all things DEAD.

Well my hats in the ring now .... and here's my very first post :P
I'm 42 and live on the coast of Maine right next to an awesome music town - Portsmouth NH. I play with my band Dead Ahead and am psyched for a great summer gig season!!
If any of you all live nearby and want to jam shoot me a PM or email gr8tfuldads [at] yahoo [dot com]
Here's a couple videos from the Tuesday Night Man Cave ... better videos will be posted on the website as I finish them up.
... I'm loving the BLENDER at about 70% Neck with 100% Bridge ... the rest is PU-> TBEVERYTHING (with some Waldo magic) ->clean AMP

Full Band practice:

Here's a special thank you to Waldo who's been a tremendous help in shaping my tone (forgive the FLIP mic in the videos) ....After a long gestation I am now the proud daddy of this: ... s/GEAR.JPG

btw ... I used the {youtube}{/youtube} tags and your PREVIEW Parser isn't liking it ... I took them out for now and went old school hyperlinks?!?!?

Welcome, Marcus! Glad to hear there's some Dead up there... Portsmouth's a great town!

Tell me more about your Blender, if youd don't mind! Sounds like it may be close to what I'm looking for... hopefully Waldo will understand it for me.

Hi Rusty ... the blender's great!!

I'm running a '91ish Strat +DX and replaced the lower tone control with an ACME BLENDER controller. I dial in the amount of NECK I want when in POS 4 & 5 on the PU selector. This gives me a very chimey bell type sound that cuts through the mix and is the best a strat has to offer IMHO. I use it with a touch of TS boost (no drive) on the Bobby CHINA CAT parts and it sounds sooo vintage (through a HR Deville).

Hey since your not even an hour down the road come check out :P
PM me your email and I can send you the schem (including blender + buffer + OBEL) for this project. Waldo is familiar with this rig as I leaned on him heavily to cut through all the many decisions that had to be made.

have fun!!
