Hi all! I am Mik form Tapestry. have a modified ibanez musician and a pretty good Jerry rig. ill post some more pix and sound clips soon. Tapestry is no more, but I am still playing from time to time and would love to start a JGB band soon. I enjoy reading the boards (I used to frequent the GEARHEADS board).

I really want to get a tiger replica, but I am low on funds - is it worth it to get the warmouth body, etc?

welcome!

i for one can say that while i went full bore with a warmoth tigeresgue guitar, it really left me just wanting a clone more. do like me and save your pennies and wait for the prize. look into moriarty guitars or ao guitars they are by far the front runners in this department. or if you get enough pennies lieber guitars who is also in upstate NY.

oh yeah! NICE RIG!

To Warmoth or not to Warmoth... That is the question.

What exactly do you want - an exact replica of one of JG's guitars or something close but specialized for you?

If you are in the latter camp, I'd go Warmoth with the JG body, some JG parts then what you need on it to be YOURS.

If you are in the prior camp, then for sure wait out for a replica!

Just my $.02

Thanks for the comments and hellos!

I would absolutely love a rosebud copy but I just know that the price is too steep when I have two kids to put through college!!! ;)

I saw that someone on the board here posted some pics of his warmoth and they looked nice! playability is what I would be mostly looking for - my ibanez is the best playing guitar that I have ever played. I pick up every guitar when I am out and have had nothing come close.

I thought of trying a carvin like JK from dso uses, i could probably do one of those for about the same cost as a warmoth, I just love the jerry horns too much!

i will keep thinking about it. I am working with a woodworker to build me a JG 3 12 hard truckers cab. I should have it by thanksgiving.

Hey Boys... Welcome Mik. He and I went to high school together, and he is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. And the man can play the hell out of a guitar. Mik, its David Fix here, in case you didnt recognize the screen name.

Welcome. I like your guitar, I'd really love to get my hands on an Ibanez Musician on day. What mods did you do to it by the way?

Hey Dave! Yeah, i finally came around to these boards!

b wierd - I routed out the center pickup area - put in three super IIs; put in the EMG JG-1 unity gain buffer; put in the effects loop (I had a mixer put in the chain on the guitar, but took it off because it never really worked quite right). I use DR-11 black beauties and heavy picks. the purple tortex i think mostly.

For my rig:
1967 blackface twin (recapped and sovtek tubes) added 2 JBL e-120 speakers - I want to do the line out and other twin mods, but havent yet.

Rack:
q-tron +
Boss Digital Delay
Boss Compressor (I never use it)
Boss EQ-7
Boss (Turbo) distortion? its either the od-1 or os1 or something - the one with the turbo mode lol
Boss Octive
Botique effects loop mixer (Ill have to look at it again to remember the name of it) for mixing dry/wet effects from loop
Roland GR-50
Furman power with lights
GCX midi effects loop switcher
FCB 1010 foot controller
Ernie Ball volume pedals for guitar and synth
Alesis 6 channel mixer (too noisy - dont buy one) to mix synth, mandolin, acoustic, etc (I can usually do without it when just using guitar and synth)

I really want a phase 100, will get it someday.

I might have to check out more on the warmoth guitars....

Welcome!

I can say that the Warmoth neck on my 5-string Phil bass is fan-freaking-tastic. I've also tried numerous other Warmoth guitar and bass necks over the years and I'd have NO concerns about playability with Warmoth parts.
