Weir Here Over There

Anybody catch the Wednesday Night Weir Here this evening? I checked in with intentions of watching for a few minutes hoping just to see Bob looking well and then was going to do some things around the house... 3 hours later.. It was a great show. Bob opened with Black Throated Wind, played Easy to Slip, a song which I have a whole new appreciation for, and to me, the highlight was a rockin Deep Ellum. Jonathan Wilson joined him among others, and a gal whose name escapes me (Mendelson?) that had a killer voice. Good show. :-)

He was great. Very lucid verbally and on guitar.

Great playing and great tone.

Leslie Mendelson, she was on the show a few months ago... I think that whole episode is on YouTube.

I got sucked in as well. It was great...I'm a big Jonathan Wilson fan, especially in that context.

Any idea why they did it at Phil's joint and not TRI?

Note Steve Parishe's comments on above Weir Here video (@ 30:50). Interesting and very telling comment about the weight of the Irwin and possibly other Jerry guitars. Both shear weight and balance weight needed to be retrofitted on most Jerry guitars. You would have though that much more consideration for this would have went into the design and initial build of the guitar in consultation and fitting with the artist/Jerry.
