Hey folks, my dead band (The Kind)'s founding drummer has since moved on to the Big Island of Hawaii and is playing some awesome old school Hawaiian swing in a band called Kahulanui. They just released their first CD on Palm Records:

Really cool stuff - the singer and band leader, Lolena Naipo, Jr. comes from a long line of Hawaiian musicians and his grandfather and band's namesake was in the Royal Hawaiian Band back in the 20s-30s. Tim Taylor, the drummer was our first drummer and still comes to the mainland at least once a year for our beach shows. Pat Eskildsen, the bassist and lead guitarist is awesome. I got to play with him a couple of times when I was out there 6 or 7 years ago. This music really swings - check it out!
