tigerstrat, you are correct. I errored when I didn't change what I pasted for the very end of Slip before Franklin's....the way you have it is correct. As for the jam in Slip, I tend to use the notes

A B C D E F F# G A (which I believe are the same as what you're calling the BeBop Minor scale)

and often try to build something interesting from various start/end points and by using various patterns and intervals such as 3rds and 6ths. Definitely one if--if not my number one favorite tune to play.

Who out there has some thoughts on playing the jam in Estimated?

I mess around with it in what I think folks would call F# Dorian mode with some alterations, but I'd like to hear what others think works well for that tune and for the jam in Saint of Circumstance.

Right, the Estimated jam is in F# Dorian ( E Major ), which is why it was an easy transition into Eyes ( same key ).

I would say it is in E...as for scales/modes, think E to E with an A maj scale....do you call that E mixolodian perhaps?

and if i remember correctly, mixolydian is the 5th of the major scale.
