Come on people now, don't be shy. Here is a song I wrote a few days ago after being around a girl I used to be into. All those feelings seemed to flood back and this came to mind.

When you smile,
it takes me to the moon.
When you smile,
I fly out of my shoes.

Makes me happier,
then seein' blossemin' trees.
Happier then thinkin',
'bout the birds and bees.

I was writin' this song,
while in front of you.
You could wonder all day long,
and still have no clue.

Lady if we were together,
in this beautiful weather.
I know I could love you forever,
and it would be a love without measure.

And thats it....it's not the greatest song in the world but it is my song. That means something special to me.

"Share and you will never have a care"...read that on a Magic Hat bottle and thought it was quite relevent.

Adios me amigos!

Come on now people, what is this? Over 40 views and not a single person willing to post a song they have written?

I took a month long road trip around the country last year with an old friend from high school...something we always wanted to do. This song kinda sums it up:

Freedom Road

The wind pushig our backs
It blows this way without reason
Miss us not today
We'll return at the end of the season

Fair skies over the west
The most blue you'll ever see
Left my love in Carolina
Now she means nothing to me

But all is well, can't you tell?
I've heard it said that a drifter can't be beat
I've been through heaven and I've been through hell
To stand on my own two feet
I've let myself go
Down freedom road

Washed my feet in the mighty Miss.
Walked barefoot with the gods
In their garden I stared at the world
Spinning against all odds

I don't care where we go
Much less about where we've been
I will always stand by you
Whether times are thick or thin

But all is well, can't you tell?
I've heard it said that a drifter can't be beat
I've been through heaven and I've been through hell
To stand on my own two feet
I've let myself go
Down freedom road

Take time to shake hands
With the washed out poor of the earth
Spent the night in a transient town
Counting every penny I'm worth

There's rewards in the end
Satisfaction along the way
Whether you're spun out in San Fransisco
Or lost in downtown L.A.

But all is well, can't you tell?
I've heard it said that a drifter can't be beat
I've been through heaven and I've been through hell
To stand on my own two feet
I've let myself go
Down freedom road

As all good things must end
I feel like I lost a friend
But I can feel it in my soul
Pieces of freedom road

I can feel it in my soul
Pieces of freedom road

I finished this song a couple months ago and I imagine you guys will understand what its about.
Hope you dig.

People Are Dying

People are dying in the streets
People are dying in the fields
People are dying waiting on their next meal
People Are dying

People are dying at war
Not even knowing what they are there for
Politicians they brain wash your mind
But they're not the ones out there dying
They put a gun in your hand and say good luck
Even when you don't give a fuck
You just want to go your own way
When you're living life day by day

People are dying in the streets
People are dying in the fields
People are dying waiting on their next meal
People are dying

You Can't feed the poor
But let's give 20 billion to the war
That money could go to them
What did they do to derserve this mayhem

People in the streets what are they good for
The may as weel be sent off to war
They do nothing but commit crimes and do as they please
So if they're off fighting your mind can be at ease
Why do you that they never did nothing to you
You send them to a country you're too scared to go to
How can you do that how do you dare
About the human life you must not care

People are dying in the streets
People are dying in the fields
People are dying waiting on their next meal
People are dying

You can't feed the poor
But let's give 20 billion to the war
Why is it so hard to understand
Why can't you help your brother man

People are dying in the streets
People are dying in the fields
People are dying waiting on their next meal
People are dying

As the sunrise pours in through my bedroom window,
another night of not sleeping has come to an end.
I fall out of bed and pick myself up off the floor,
and think about facing another day alone.
Somethin's pushin me along, but I got no place to go.
Maybe that old road can ease my soul.
The wheel keeps on turnin, that much now I see,
There's a restless feelin comin over me.

I can't stand still long enough to think things through.
I can only trust my instincts, and hope they're good
I've made some wrong turns, but I've wound up where I'm at,
I've done nothing I regret and I sure take nothin back
I'm headed on to an unknown horizon,
I won't know where I'm going til I get there.
the fruit may not be sweeter when its on a different tree
but there's a restless feelin comin over me

I've drank with the devil and left him on the floor
I've had dinner with angels and they asked back for more
I've traveled all the miles from the mountains to the shore,
but I still don't even know what it is I'm looking for.

When the sun touches the horizon that I still haven't reached,
another night of not sleeping is about to begin.
Another day gone, another day without a home.
I forget how many days I've left on the road.
I'd love to find a place where I coudl settle down,
Things wouldl be easier that way,
But I look up at the stars and think of all there is to see,
and there's a restless feelin comin over me.

This is the first song I ever wrote, a long time ago, but still one of my favorites to play... a li'l hillbilly love song as it were. Or maybe just plain white trash redneck.

Mississippi Smith

Mississippi Smith with his ball and chain
or so he calls her for the nightly game
If it weren't for you, then I'd be free
so come on over take a lesson from me
If you've got anything to say
I'll kick you in the teeth, knock you in the head
Maybe you'll finally be quiet instead

Well he was holdin' her down all thru the night
you could hear that woman jus' a-cryin' with fright
all the way to Abilene and back again
Mississipi he says with a grin,
"shut your mouth woman close your trap,
don't you ever mistake me for meek,
'cos I'll slap you down every time you speak"

Now here I come on up the street
to see Josephine my woman so sweet
You know I love her so, love her all thru the night
with a woman like that you know it's gotta be right
She can dance to the midnight flame
all night long you know she's callin' my name
Says I'm her sweet lovin' backdoor man

Here I come on up the house
tryin to be just as quiet as a mouse
But when I hear it goin' down again
says to myself won't let ol' Mississippi win
I busts in, breakin' down the door
"Hey Mississippi I've had it this time,
gonna learn ya how to walk the line"

Mississippi standin' there quite surprised
a look of confusion dawin' in his eyes
"What the hell", he says, " is all this jive?"
just as I reach for my forty-five
Right then and there he get's down on his knees
Prayin' and a-weepin' and beggin'me please
"Say there boy won't you spare my skin?"

You know I couldn't help but laugh at the old son of a bitch
you shoulda seen just how much he twitched
When I lifted that gun, put it to his head,
pulled the trigger and I shot his ass dead
As he fell Josephine says to me,
"Baby I'm glad that we've finally seen
the end of Mississippi Smith and me

"But now it's time we've got to hit the road
before the sherriff comes with the warrant that's owed
You and me babe we're gonna go far,
on down to Mexico in a railway car
Find a little place out on the beach
where the sun always shines and we're always free
Livin' so far away from Mississippi"
