I assume they were single coil?....active or passive? Im not a big electronics guru so sorry for the amaturish question.

active pickups. The SPC requires a battery to operate.

I see in that pic of Rich, the guitar has one of those locking "speed nuts". I wonder if that's why Weir didn't use it? I have always wanted to install one, but everyone I spoke to about them said they were basically junk. I even bought one a while back, but both places I brought it to said they couldn't install it on any of my Modulus guitars, and even if they could, they suggested I shouldn't. I think the one I bought is made by Kalher maybe?
