4/21/86 – Brent performs Maybe You Know, and he sounds wasted and struggling with some personal issues. The whole song is rough, but particularly toward the end Brent really starts to let it all out. He sounds like he is breaking down on stage. It is sad, but in a twisted way actually kind of funny when Brent yells out in anger “MAYBE YOU DON’T FUCKIN KNOW HOW I’M FEELIN”, and then proceeds to play his keys which have a happy and bouncy upbeat sound. It is quite strange to listen to; definitely a dark and awkward moment though. Garcia comes out from backstage to start a GDTRFB to try and change the mood, until Lesh and Weir literally ran from backstage to join the band onstage for GDTRFB.

4/3/88 – On this day Garcia was very sick, and it showed through his voice which was completely shot. It was so bad that during Black Peter, Garcia is so frustrated with his sick voice that when he finishes the last verse he slams down his microphone on the ground (at the 7:02 mark). Then, in true Garcia fashion, he uses his guitar to do the singing for himself since his voice is absolutely gone at this point, and what a job he does. When Garcia initially slams down his microphone on the ground, the crowd sounds like they don’t even know what to do, then they quickly start to offer cheers in support of Garcia.
