Anyone know when/where this photo might have been taken? I've seen Jerry play a Les Paul Junior before. And it looks like they're using Kustom amps, which I've never seen The Dead use before. I always had the impression their late 60's backline was all Fender. And it looks like Pigpen is also playing a Kustom organ, which I've never seen before, as well. Didn't Pig usually use a Vox Continental or Hammond B-3?

Wow, those Expo '67 photos are pretty cool. So this picture must have been taken sometime in 67, then? Judging from those Expo '67 photos, it looks both the Dead and the Airplane are using the same backline, which I understand to have been commonplace back in those days. I know Ray Manzarek once told a story of the Dead and The Doors sharing a bill where The Doors were supposed to use The Dead's gear, but Pigpen wouldn't let Ray even touch his Vox Continental, never mind actually play it.

So the question, is this the Dead's amps in this photo, or the Airplane's? And what about the Les Paul Junior and the Kustom organ? Were these loaned to the band for this one concert, or did Jerry and Pigpen play these instruments on other occasions?
