I'm having trouble with my volume pot in my Modulus guitar. Right at the end of the taper
between 9 & 10 theres a huge difference in volume. Not linear at all. I'm headed to the
music store today and they have volume pots. Any suggestions.

Arid

Just like to add it has 2 volumes and 1 tone control w/ a 5 way switch. I haven't popped
the back cover off yet to check the values.

arid,

a linear potentimeter turned to the half way point of it's rotation will be half of it's total resistance.

an audio(log) potentiometer will not. the majority of it's resistance is at the end of it's taper. if it is 10 to 20% of it's total resistance at it's halfay point then it is a standard audio(log) pot. if it is 80 to 90% at it's halfway point then it is a reverse audio(log)pot.
lefty's might want to use the reverse audio(log) potentiometer, but i am not a lefty so have never tried it.

if you swap the potentiometer out for a linear pot. most of the volume will come before or about the halfway point and you will witness very little difference from there.

here is an article link. geofx's article with is very informative and explains it very well.

You have a Modulus guitar without a SPC in it? Weird.
I would tell you to go with a 50k pot for a better volume sweep but with no buffer probably go with a 250k

No buffer I just looked. I may just leave it for the time being -it's so damn neat in there. I'll
see what happens Sat nite when I jam with it again -

I was thinking of cutting pieces of felt in circles, like little washers and sandwiching them between the knobs
and the pots for more physical control.

why do you have two volume pots?
what kind of pickups are in your guitar?

This should help - it's a 98' Genesis Three.

Waldo, do you think 25k would do the trick, Dozin was saying 250k if it doesnt have a buffer. Idk. Thanks for the link. Peace.

oops!

thought you were dealing with active electronics. here is a 250k version on ebay, probably a little cheaper then banzai. i see that allesandro is actually using PEC a canadien potentiometer company and just stamping there name on them. still the same spec's, and probably why i can't find the PEC versions at mouser OR allied anymore. DAMN!
