a couple of questions:
Is it better to put the amps on a platform rather than have them directly on the carpeted floor?
Its a small room what kind of stereo/box/monitor(s) should i get to jam along too?

May I throw a seondary question to this, aside from the music equipment, what type of computers is everyone using to record?

I always have the amp about a foot off the floor. Do not have a technical reason why but it always seemed to me that if it was good for audio speakers it ought to be the same with an amp. I use garageband for making tracks on the computer.

go with an apple computer, you want the apple and protools in the long run, maybe right now if in your budget
