any ideas why my amp will buzz when I walk close to it? I switched cables etc. I have a rocktron 300>SMS running 2x12 JBL's

there is a slight buzz when I am about 3 feet away but when I get closer its louder.

does it happen with different guitars? I'd try that, might be a grounding issue on the guitar. If you're using effects, unplug them and see what happens.

Single coils or humbuckers?

I tried both Single and humbuckers. I am running a chord fron the output of the rocktron to the 2x12. That has a very tiny hum. Its when I plug any guitar in. I will do the trial and error thing over the weekend. Any suggestions?

Do you have anything else plugged in to a different outlet in your signal path? Try plugging everything into the same outlet. I'm assuming your power is grounded. Checking the ground is another thing you might want to do. If you don't have a volt meter you can go to the hardware or computer store and get a power strip with a ground check light.
