I always seem to have trouble hearing him in a recording. Any specific shows that I can really hear what his piano sounds like so then I can listen for it in other shows?

I saw TC at the Syracuse Univ Rathskeller back mid 70's. He sounded just like that.

One of his complaints with the band is that he was too low in the mix.

I think he played more organ than piano. He complained that he couldn't keep up with all of the guitar amps on stage, so it sounds like he was wondering what he sounded like!

Yep, and most of the time he was stuck with that cheesy Vox Continental although I think he did get to play Pig's B3 later on. Still, he was a piano player at the time so it really wasn't a great fit.

When he's playing the organ it's difficult to determine whether its Pig or Tom.
Everyone once in a while I hear a few piano notes, but it is too low in the mix.
