I can't hear him doing anything in that timeframe but some freaking shit is heard around 3:08. I bet the sound could be gotten from an ebow. Maybe a bit of volume pedal plus some feedback.

Oh and it gets weirder later 4:05ish

this is definitely an awesome cut of Slipknot!
