need info on MXR Distortion + (70's) 9vlt mod

I really love this pedal but it's 9volt battery only. Anyone have info on the mod for letting me power it with a cable? And I know someone added the true bypass and a led. Mine's from 1977 and would love the mod. I'm not some high level electronics guy but if you give me some details I'll give it a shot!

could be tricky to use on an MXR... might have to leave off the bottom... or use longer screws with spacers that create a gap that the wire can pass through. I wouldn't drill a hole in a collectible pedal like that.

Z-Vex makes a unit like that. The small one is supposed to fit old MXR pedals.

mxr made adapter plates, you'll have to roll your own cable though. probably don't need the knob covers, but do help with foot adjustments.

awesome! later on I was thinking "why not just get a generic back plate and drill that, and store the vintage part for safekeeping"... however I would think it might work better to cut a notch in the edge rather right in the middle.

another set of lugs is needed on the switch for the led mod. i would go to a 3pdt and true bypass it as well. 2 sets of lugs for the true bypass and the third for the led mod.
