the GE7 is noisy when you use it to boost volume, if you want to keep noise down, keep the volume at the middle and its OK. I'll use other pedals to boost volume. The mods are a switch in OPamps to a better quality burr brown version, there are some mods online that sell the package. the problem there is that you need to know if your GE7 has 3 or 4 opamps in it. older ones have less, it could be 2 and 3 I forget what the number was.

I have 2 GE-7s, both very noisy. I may do the DIY mod.
