Not a major DSO follower so I have no idea what JK might or might not have played years ago with them. The PRS's shape, though, did seem closer to this new-for-this-year NF3 model (which I saw with both rosewood and maple boards at PRS Experience this year, though the stock models are maple) than the older, classic shape. Can anyone else comment?

P.S. When I played the NF3, I thought immediately that it could work well for Jerry tones. And the neck is so comfortable.

I seem to recall reading an interview with JK in which he states that its an alder bodied bolt-neck guitar. Originally, I believe this model was supposed to be strat-like (another good reason for a Jerry mod), but I'll try to look for those words to back this up.

I seem to recall reading an interview with JK in which he states that its an alder bodied bold neck guitar.

I seem to recall that it is bolt-neck. From about '92 to '98, he played a similar one with gold paint and S-S-S pickguard with three Duncan JB Jr.s. He's also got an Epi Genesis double cutaway that I don't know if he has gigged with. It's interesting about the Celestion-voiced "Cabulator" (sp?) output on his H&K pre, because in those days he always ran thru Vintage 30's.

With his Carvin, I feel like the sound is chunkier that it is with the PRS, though the sound is chunkier overall as well than it was with DSO. Having it emulate those Celestions might do it, especially if its a closed back thing, might just add that extra touch of meat. Still great tone, though.

I 've seen a picture on his facebook where you can see the neck joint and I'm pretty sure it's set neck, He always answers questions if you ask him, I recently asked him about the different feel about his carvin and prs and he responded in under an hour!

It's an EG series bolt on. He's owned (or owns) several but the green one has been played out the most.

His guitar in the pic is an PRS EG-2.
Its a bolt on 22 fret maple/rosewood neck.
he added the Super 2s and OBEL and buffer, He used to use the CAE but it might be a Waldo nowadays.
He also has a Goldtop EG but I haven't seen that one in awhile. I have had several of these over the years and they are really underated guitars overall. Perfect LP/Strat mix and easily modded due to the pickguard. And affordable. Very Jerry. When it comes to JK I like this guitar better than the Carvin.
Oh and the PRS is Redburst not green.
