Bob's tone was great in STL. He looked really healthy too (long surfer shorts:)! The eleven on the eleventh!! I thought JK's distortion sounds were unique maybe like he is trying to add a little of his own tone to further. Anyone else think the same? Great set list!

Did you get a chance to feel/ test out the crystal frets? That has me intrigued. It seems to make a lot of sense. I can also see it changing the tone, maybe even for the worse. Since a lot of us tweak things so closely and any little change would upset the apple cart, it may be something not worth it, but it would be nice to have frets that last forever. Sometimes these kind of things add more variables to the guitar tone only to lead to buying more gear to deal with the difference in tone. I do like the allegation that it helps sustain.

No man. I didn't read about the crystal frets until the day after the show. I'm sure I would have taken a closer look or maybe even a feel of them had I known.

Regarding the two 2-12" Vox loaded speaker cab's powered now by the stereo Boogie power amp, Bob ONLY uses them to "feel" the guitar on stage since the in-ears lack the gut feel and full body experience. I'm guessing that when they faced forward, it may have been too much brightness shooting at the house, and Bob only needs the warm chunk of that sound and not the bright cut. So to tame it in the house, but still provide the beef, he has them backwards and baffled so it doesn't blast the drums or the 2 vocalists.

The sound we all hear is from the DI boxes after the TC effects unit. Sound path:

guitars - wireless receivers - Lehle switcher - Steel Guitar Black Box - Digi Eleven Rack (mono) - Avalon comp (mono) - TC (stereo effects) - 2 DI Boxes - to house mix and the Boogie power amp.

I also noticed the Vox AC 30 amp model setting in the Eleven Rack.

How come nobody ever mentions the EH Bi-Filter sitting right in his rack.( by the way, thanks for the pics, Brad. They are GREAT!) For all intensive purposes that is a racked Mutron! It a direct descendant of the BSL Envelope Controlled Filter which IS a Mutron 3 on Steroids in a Rack.

I thought it to be more like a EQ for envelope and tone rather than a follower that goes down and up dynamically with each note. Is that what he uses to get mutron like sounds for certain songs? can it follow each note like its little brother the muIII or is it foot activated? I guess you learn something everyday.

Ugghhh, saw both nights. Barely heard his guitars low vocals. So fucking annoying..

Regarding Bobby's tone, it sound like:
1. nothing
2. chink, chink, chime.
3. nothing
4.Chime, chime, chink
5. nothing

couldn't tell a diff from any guitar. Now volume or low end. As exciting as white bread.

Fri - closer to stage than SBD, house right
Sat - next to tapers, house left

Also walked around, barely heard....
