So, I am seriously considering getting picks made up of the new logo. In fact, I think its fair to say I am going to get them made up, its just a matter of quantity. Because of the complexity of the design, they will cost anywhere from .40 to .60 cents to make, depending on quantity.

What I really want to do is use them to raise funds for the Rex Foundation. I am not interested in profiting from these. I think the fairest thing to do is to present you with the costs and your desire to partipate.

so, lets use to worst case:

.61 for a pick, .39 to mail it. That's $1.00 right there in administrative costs. With nothing going to the Rex Foundation. I think that the picks should be sold in packs of 5-10. At ten picks, we are looking at 6.50 in admin costs, and 3.50 going to the rex foundation. At 5, we ar elooking at 3.60 in admin costs and 1.40 going to the rex foundation.

So, in the spirit of giving, what would you guys be willing to support? I would love any feedback that you have to offer.

Would it be cheaper to print in bulk?

I'd be interested in a handful or dozen or score of RUKIND picks!

By shipping multiple the postage goes down.

I would pay whatever ends up being the cost.

Having an rukind pick would be cool, and knowing that the effort is to benefit a deserving charity makes it worthwhile.

I doubt I would actually use the picks, since I'm a bit particular to my heavy gauge triangular Tortis. However, I'd still buy them and give them away or whatever.....

500 picks would cost about 42 cents per pick. 125 picks would cost about 61 cents per pick. I don't know if I am willing to cover the costs above 500 picks given then current level of interest. There is definately economy of scales, it just a matter of how much I am going to lay down in cash to make it happen. Seeing that we have a whopping 9 votes on the issue, I am not getting a good feeling that I should invest much in this endeavor.

If it turns out that we go forward with a benefit to the Rex Foundation, the charitable arm of the Grateful Dead, I think it only makes sense to sell them in larger quantities, so that we can reduce postage, and increase what we give to them,
