As a community we've given you a TIME OUT... go to your room and practice harmonic minor scales on your instrument of choice... and if it's not a Jerry inspired guitar for which we have a pic... YOU WILL RECEIVE ANOTHER TIME OUT...

justice served... back to my coffee...

...or the end of the beginning of the end, for that matter...

I've had an instance of what you are talking about this weekend. I was able to press the back button and repost it. I do make a backup of the database a couple of times a week, so I am sure that this will explain some of it, but certainly not all of it.

If this happens, the best idea is to press the back button and try to submit again.

I've been having this problem a lot. especially if I take more than a minute to write a post.

the back button works some of the time, but not all of the time. retyping an already written post or reply to a pm multiple times gets very frustrating. this is actually my second attempt at this post and must remember to copy it so i don't have to retype it. also, using the back button only allows you to resubmit but totally loses anything already written, so you can understand the frustrations taking place. i would also say that i am willing to bet some are just not posting due to this error.

Your request timed out. Please retry the request.
seeing this SUCKS if you didn't copy the original post!!!
went thru on my 3rd attempt at submitting!

peace,
waldo

after searching around the internet, it looks like many people are seeing this with Godaddy and PHPBB. People say that pressing the refresh button (instead of the back button) will allow you to repost. I will see what I can find in the error logs.

if you use firefox the back button will resend the original typed pot and it will work.

If you use ie then Waldo's right, you lose the whole post.

for the record, I started a backup at 10:00 AM, and they can take up to two hours to start and complete. I am certain that you should see an error during this time (like Waldo's). Unfortunately, I need to kick that process off myself, and sometimes I need to do it when I can - I really don't feel like losing the data in this site. Sometimes this means doing backups at inopportune times.

I will try to start them before I go to bed instead of when I wake up to try and synch myself to the East Coast Time Zone.
