Touch of Grey solo scale

Just a quick question...

Because I'm no good at reading tablature (i can't get the timing down on the notes) and because I think dead songs should be jammed and not recited "word for word,"

does anybody know what scale jerry uses for his solo? I know it's in B, but I don't know the variant. Any information would be awesome! Thanks

I'd start with some straight up arpeggios with these shapes

In reference to the Touch of Grey solo there is not one scale to learn to do this solo. What makes this solo so fantastic is Jerry's amazing ability to gracefully and seamlessly solo thru the chord changes. What I mean by this is that Jerry is more or less always using the major scale or arpeggio for the current chord. At one point in the solo (I will survive part) Jerry is using three scales (F# B E), but Jerry intertwines these so seamlessly that it sounds, (like one scale) well it sounds like freaking Jerry!

My best advise to learn this solo is to get the tab from the song forum and watch the youtube video from SteelYerFace here:

Watch the video as many times as necessary, learn each line of the solo from the tab. Luckily there is some repetition in the middle part of the solo, so there is one part that more or less repeats three times.

Learning this solo is well worth the effort as it offers great insight into Jerry's musical style.

Update: I have added the Chord forms I used for the first 4 lines of Tab (so far).
Strum along using just the chord forms on the neck, then add the arrpegios with the picking hand.
I usually hold the chord forms with ring/middle/index, and catch the coupla extra notes with the pinky.
