Intro stuff

Intro stuff

Postby Tennessee Jedi » Mon Jun 15, 2009 7:51 am

Anyone have the intro tabbed out like on the album its from ( I forget the name of the Garcia record right now :D )?
Found some tab on the net but it sounds like the wrong position/notes.
The album version has a almost sweep picking sound going for the 1st few notes ..... driving me crazy ....
Thanks !

This is the first Tab I have ever made, but I think it is right. At least this is how I play it.

E|------------------------------------------------------
B|------------------------------------------------------
G|--14--------------------------------------------------
D|------14----------------------------------13------14--
A|----------14----------------------------------12------
E|--------------14--12--12--10--10--12--10--------------

Then it is a quick run leading to the step up to the A.
It all rolls into one and nothing comes for free
There's nothing you can hold for very long
And when you hear that song come crying like the wind
It seems like all this life was just a dream

Me thinks the tab may be going the wrong way - no guitar in hand but I think those 14's are an ascending riff, pitchwise, not descending.

For reference Jerry played IMHBTR a bit more uptempo around 78 I think it is with a different intro...

Looking for a show date now...

D'OH !! He's right, it is backwards. Like I said first time tabbing. Here it is- not upside down and looking in a mirror.

E|--------------14--12--12--10--10--12--10--------------
B|----------14----------------------------------12------
G|------14----------------------------------13------14--
D|--14--------------------------------------------------

thats pretty spot on i think... you can play the upper portion on the lower equivalent frets, and also the lower portion on the higher equivalent ones... this is from 78 version
