I just got a copy of 9-18-87... It is the most amazing guitar soloing i have ever heard. The entire show garcia is going nuts but whenever i hear the dew I get a shit eatin grin on my face. Its so deep but he does it so easily i have never heard him open up that much. Then the good lovin> la bamba> good lovin it just is so sad he's gone but the show is the most incredible relic he left behind, one of many but this one is so good!

I always thought the solo on that Dew was rather sloppy, the first part of it anyway.

Did anyone mention 9-21-72 yet? The Space between Dark Star and Dew is like some blissfull acid bluegrass, oh yeah, the Dew is pretty damn good too. Dicks Picks 36... Really the whole thing is tops (even the filler).
Another vote for the last epic Dew ...3-27-94.
Do yourself a favor...

Well, I just listened to the Hershey '85 Dew for the first time last night. Love that the bass and drumming is very locked in and Phil is super fat in the mix. Overall a very good version. Not epic IMO, but very good. The build up at the end is pretty short compared to some of the standout versions and Jerry's voice is just so shot in the '83-86 era that it really makes it hard for me to love anything from then...but I sure try! I'll give it another listen.

Old topics are often the best topics! A recent discovery (possibly because it was one of the few shows I missed of its tour)and fave is 3/31/89 Greensboro. Fantastic!

Maybe not quite Harper or Barton but 9/2/80 is by far the best one I ever saw. Need the space>Iko lead in to get the full effect. That show stuck with me for a long time.

Check out Sugaree while your at it, not to shabby.

As much as it drives me nuts to hear that 5/8/77 is the best show ever played by the Grateful Dead, I do have to say that that the morning dew is the best I've ever heard. There have been many a nights I almost crashed my car into a tree listening to this version".........
