Nice highs

I was watching The Grateful Dead movie and was wondering how Jerry gets that nice high sound. I play an sg and cannot get such a crisp tone and i have tried a lot of different things.

Well I think I might know your problem. Your pick-ups. Jerry's Wolf has three single coil pick-ups while your SG has two humbuckers. The difference; well a humbucker has more power more crunch. It play's dirtier, rougher. While a single coil has a thinner HIGHER sound. A Fender Strat has single coils if you don't have a Strat you can buy a fine Standard of $430 from Musiciansfriend.com.

Hey Stratmaster, try rolling back the mids and bottom on your amp and dialing up the treble to almost 10, 8 or 9 anyway, try it you'll like it!

Stratmaster, you must have a Strat, eh? The SG is good for '68-mid '71 sounds.
