Lost Sailor question and video format q's ... help?

Postby playingdead » Sun Mar 30, 2008 5:49 pm

Now that we have unlimited storage and bandwidth on our server, I'm experimenting, trying to find a good video format that works cross-platform (using Flash) and delivers reasonably good audio and video. Maybe you all can tell me if this is working on whatever platform you're on (works on a Mac, for me). Clicking the little icon on the bottom right should bring it to full screen for you, with not bad video quality. (YouTube is awful, as you know.)

And ... since we trotted out Lost Sailor the other night, with a few errors ... does anyone know the proper notes and/or chord structure in that little intricate transition on "been to long at sea" part? What we're doing sounds wrong to me, and it's not really clear on any of the tabs I've found.

TIA

PS -- Apologies in advance for Bobby Lite ;-)

vid not working well for me - maybe 3 frames per second, though frames are very clear. Sound is very good.

Don't know this one too well so can't help with that part. I hear you with your sense that it ain't quite right, but the average guy ain't gonna notice. Yea, I know, we ain't playing just for the average guy. 8)

vic,

all the GD tunes have seperate forum discussions. go to grateful dead tabs in the left frame of the main page choose the song and if there is any video instruction, forum discussion or tabs there will be a link. anyway this might be what you are looking for.

Finally got that little turnaround right ...

Lead line is A G E C B-flat G A

Harmony line : E D E G F D E

Or you can just play two-note chords up around the 12th fret:

A G C B-flat G A

Thanks, ya'll!
