Suggestions for one guitar

Any suggestions for just one guitar? how do ya'll play it and what scale/mode do you use to add lead licks, especially on the intro riff i try to hear it out but i cant..?
Any help would be great, how can i improve my ear to hear out licks and rhythms if you could add some feedback on that also? im trying to improve vastly

IIRC, on the intro I play an A off the 7th fret (D shaped) and mix that with Asus2 & Asus4.

I'm sure if you look across all 3 rhythm players someone is playing each of those. However, that doesn't mean any single person is playing it just like that.

Try it out.

If you play it all off the 7th and just modulate the A you don't change position and it flows very smoothly. That is key to this intro.

No guitar here at work so I can't say for sure.

I would try it out but i have no idea how to finger these chords if you could tab the chords out for me It would be great and how did you come up with going from a to a sus 2 to a sus 4th you just thought it would sound well?

do you mean like one of those ways and if so which one cause the way you tab it, it would be impossible to finger it cause we only have 4 fingers, correct me if im wrong.

Glad to help! I've played the role of Bobby in a few GD bands so I've got some experience with the more non-traditional chord forms.

I've found that what I suggested above works really well on acoustic or as a 2nd guitarist in a band.


NOW HERE IS WHERE IT GETS COOL.... For the lines that end in G, take that same form, move it down a step and play that riff again! It sounds awesome and adds nice texture to the song!

Nice man how did you learn so much you must have a good ear, any suggestions in general on improving and figuring out bobby's rhythms and just rhythms in general cause im trying to master rhythm before I try to take on lead. may be life-long but I just like playing it helps me escape man. hehe, what scale do you use to solo in this song and do you do anything in particular?
