on my octave divider, i really like it and then i really really really like the octave bender effect on the podxt.. we went to gratefulfest july 4 and john seemed to use it on a music never stopped.. sounded like a bagpipe.. anyway, that setting i can get,,
and the boss octave i can make work, like?
but i am not sure how the blasted settings are supposed to go and whether it goes before the qtron in a setting.. sometimes it's clear jerry went from one to both to the other.. there is a tapers trove on dead net that way with an scarlet begonias estimated
ANYWAY try as i might, what is the order and settings of ranges that jerry mighta used?
right now they are, on the oc3 after the qutron and before the boss distorion.. as follows
direct level 11 o'clock oct 1 level 1-2 o'clock and oct 2 drive a hair before 12 o'clcok and MODE oct 2
they are fun to play in but i am not sure i am right.
and as an added bonus, i will not ask any more dumb questions of this board for a few days... ( becuz i don't understand the white anolog modulator settings at all)
by the way, out where y'all live have ya caught cornmeal from chicago and boombox from eugene? i'd guess ya have but we say em both at gratefulfest and loved the sounds of both of em,

Regarding the MXR, is the script model far superior to the block insignia models?

i was wondering the same thing... anyone know?

the script and the early block logo's have the same circuit board. the dunlop MXR block logo is the same circuit NOT parts, and has everything circuit board mounted. IMHO the script and early block logos are better sounding, but the newer version gets the job done.

I have to say - I bought a new phase 100 and was not at all happy with the sound. It was very thin and weak sounding - maybe something was wrong with it - I don't know - but I didn't like it at all. I got a new phase 90 and did a couple of mods to it - the R28, C11 and C12 mods (you'll find them with a google search) and man the thing sounds rich and lush like I want it to be - just sweetness. The mods supposedly make it identical to the script model sound.

Put the OC3 FIRST in the chain. The OC3 gets garbled pretty easily if there's something other that just a clean signal going into it (that's where Jerry used it too). Then I use the direct level usually all the way up - the octave 1 at maybe 30% - sometimes more depending on how dark you want to get. Octave 2 sometimes off all the way and sometimes more - again depending on how dark you want your tone.

thanks i thought that it should go first , by ear, but the guy at the music store said not too.. so i will go do what you and my ear said and the heck with the guy at gtr cntr
what do i do with the mode? the poly thing sounds too strong so i leave it on the second setting oct 2..
is that right?
