DP 10 (12/29/77)

I listened to almost every single loser from 1977 and that one rules all, listen to it loud or not at all

6/29/76 is huge.

One of the hottest ever imho is the one right after Brent died, at 9/8/90 Vince's 2nd show, but a few shows before Bruce joined, when VW was basically playing very cautiously and just staying out of everyone else's way. Phil and Bob seemed to really step up their game to take up the slack of Brent's conspicuous absence (Bob also seemed a lot louder than usual in the mix) and among many incredible song performances the Loser was RED hot.

Without doubt, the best Loser is the Buffalo Bills in the 90's.

Never have I seen someone so talented at losing as the Bills of those days.

Honestly I am pretty partial to the Barton Hall version. Jerry with some very choice harmonics in his solo.

What about the one from the "Dozin" run in March of '90? Why the fuck was this left of the release?

ayou are right I remember during the set break, my friends raving about the loser, it is pretty damn rockin'
I can't pick out one, but the knick from 3-24-900 is a pretty distinctive one...

You always seem to have good dates for these things. BUT I looked up the 76 one and didnt see a loser in the setlist. Then I looked up the 90 one and no loser again. The wording for the 90 show was a little funny so were you talkin about a different show in reference to that date? and what about the 76 one?

9/8/90 - Saturday - Richfield, OH
One Hell In A Bucket [6:06] ~ Sugaree [10:09] ; New Minglewood Blues ; Friend Of The Devil ; Queen Jane Approximately ; Loser ; Cassidy > Deal
Two Eyes Of The World [17:16] > Estimated Prophet [14:16] > Terrapin Station [13:25] > Jam [4:34] > Drums [8:51] > Space [9:05] > All Along The Watchtower [5:59] > SteIla Blue [8:22] > Throwing Stones [8:51] > Not Fade Away [6:48]
Encore One More Saturday Night [3:11]

but you are totally correct and I am busted on the 6/29/76: I have a recording of set I of this show and I had forgotten that the Loser on it is a filler... but it is a mid-late 70's version... which admittedly isn't much help.

Best loser? I'd say the Bills.

Thank you, I'll be here all week. Try the veal.

Too funny guys. But what about the Cubbies? Aren't they the Loveable Losers, after all? I'd give the Bills a song titled "Choker"....or is it vice-versa?

I actually had a great Loser in Boston on 7/10/07 - albeit by Ratdog, but it was sweet. That one that TS mentioned after Brent died was pretty smokin' as well.
