To put it slightly different way, this poll might get a lot more of a representative sample of voters if it didn't cut off at only 1mm. Jerry G. played 2mm's, and so do many of his devotees.

1mm is certainly heavy enough for me. I only use a pick when playing electric.

i normally play with my fingers, like Duane
but when i use pick, i preffer 1.0, wich is a good size, cause i think 1.25 is too much.

I use Tortis picks (not Dunlop Tortex). They are pricey at ~$20, but are the best I've found. I prefer heavy, which dang must be around 1.6-1.8mm.

I currently play with Fender Extra Heavy picks, and they're made of cellulose. I measured them for thickness and it looks like they're 1.00 mm.

Anytime I've tried other picks, of different materials, I've found I don't like the sound I get.

Jerry used Fender Extra Heavy picks, until he switched to those graphite picks. I like his '70s style the most, and that's when the GP Interview came out, when he mentioned the Fender Extra Heavy picks, so I am for picks that most closely duplicate both the thickness and material of those.

Like my skiis, flyrod, and the mast of my windsurfing rig, I like the feel of something highly responsive.
A flick-ee, pick, that allows me load up the potential energy, and release it onto the next string.
While I find this mostly in the Medium catagory, I use pretty much anything in this product line:

I also have tried, and always have on hand, picks that don't bend, in the 1mm to 3mm range, and find they have a place in the gigging pick stable, typically for Env Filter work, or anything the requiers a notable high-initial-attack.
But for clean playing (meaning no effects besides reverb/deley), I just find the stiff picks to be too thud-ee sounding.

imho, A huge amount of tonal-spectrum-variance can be achieved by way of pick guage. I find this to be especially noticable on acoustic guitar.
