Middle of verse fill

Here's a little fill from the G7 to the C right smack in the middle of the verse.

---G7----------------C

E----7---5---3---1---0----
B--------------------1----
G---7---5---4---2----0----
D--------------------2----
A--------------------3----
E-------------------------

And there's this varient

---G7----------------C

E--------------------0----
B----8---6---5---3---1----
G--------------------0----
D---9---7---5---3----2----
A--------------------3----
E-------------------------

Put em together and you get this

----G---F---Em--Dm--C

E---7---5---3---1---0----
B---8---6---5---3---1----
G---7---5---4---2---0----
D---9---7---5---3---2----
A-------------------3----
E-------------------------

Now Em and Dm may not be the precise names for these shapes, but you get my point.

Maybe someone (Kenny) can comment from a chord substitution perspective.
