Bobby's Furthur Tone

Bobby's Furthur Tone

If you guys are interested in getting this tone, I am pretty close. I am missing a few components but fairly close. I am plugged in direst during this show which I have mixed feelings about. I think I will go back to power amp and speakers this weekend.

I see you are 'direct'. Is Bobby direct these days? The TRI broadcasts sound direct to me. So clean...

Sorry for the delay:

So basically I use The Eleven Rack sometimes with a Meyer CP10 parametric eq. I also use the Electro Harmonix Bi Filter and TC electronics g major 2. I have been plugging the Bi Filter into the effects loop and the G major into the loop of the bi filter. I don't really like what I am getting there though. I'm going to try plugging guitar into filter and then into the Eleven Rack. If you guys are at all familiar with the Eleven Rack by Avid (pro tool people), it has pretty much everything built in to it that you need and I'm pretty sure the Bob's current sound is mostly caused by the Eleven Rack. Obviously state of the art PA and stage sound is a huge +. I am pretty sure Bob is going Direct but I am not. I love The Eleven Rack with Full Range sound but only got to use 1 speaker at Terrapin which is worth bringing up. It was one of Phil's Meyer 10 inch (4000 watt). This Full Range speaker along with Gibson 339 and Eleven Rack was the ultimate tone for me. I wish I could get one of those Meyer Speakers. I think they are around $6000 - $8000. Yeah right!. For now I have been using a Mackie Thump 15 in which deserves to be in the trash after using that Meyer. I also use Eminence Commonwealth 12 in, which react pretty well with the Mesa Boogie 2:100 Rectifier, which is basically RARE at this point. BTW, the flanger, chorus, phaser, comp , and Par EQ in The Eleven Rack are sick!!! I have about 20 different presets for every guitar.
Here is a vid from this past weekend where I am playing a Modulus Blackknife (same model as Pink Guitar) basically with the Vox amp setting and comp, Par EQ, mesa 2:100, and eminence commonwealth speakers. I do not have any effects going through at this point.

Maybe I missed something. In the video, are you using an amp or power amp into speakers?

btw... in the TRI stream, I don't think Bob used the Eleven Rack. I think he's using a smaller box and going direct.

I've seen the Eleven Rack in music gear magazines but didn't really consider it before reading this thread and looking into it a little more. It sounds like a great tool to have for its versatility. I play in a practice band, and we mic the amps and drums, and feed it all into a mixer, and use in ear monitors. The Eleven Rack sounds like a really good way to keep the volume down in a practice setting while still hearing everything through the in-ear monitors. When you look on ebay, they are cheaper than I expected. I know next to nothing about ProTools, but do you need a computer and Protools to work the unit this way? Or is everything controllable from the front panel of the Eleven?

Hey nsandi9,

Sounds awesome, man!

Would you consider posting some of your tone, comp, flanger settings from the vox setup? I'd like to see what I can get out of a POD XT with similar models. Also, I assume it a AC30 model. Yes?

Thanks in advance.
