I've had a lot of people ask for this, but I final had someone order one. This is going out to Rusch Guitars for another of his master pieces.

The ring, the mouth, and the head accents are brass. The backing wood is quilt maple of course. The black is ebony. The eyes and the tongue are mytle wood (the tongue dyed red). The teeth are mammoth ivory. I try to get as close to the original as possible. Couldn't tell what he used for the tongue, but I think what I used looks good.

The big change I made to the original is the eyes. He cut the eyes and then cut the lines surrounding the pupils with a knife leaving a very blurry line. I made the eyes from four pieces and allowed the epoxy to flow up into the seam which created a much cleaner line. Maybe not 100% authentic, but I think it looks a lot better. It's always a balancing act.

Great looking inlay.

I thought this was about Haynes playing Wolf (or is it a copy?) at the Garcia symphony shows. Heard the show at Wolftrap Monday, very nice.

This music will live forever.

I would love to get a close up look at that guitar. It would improve my work.

The EB3 you keep teasing us about?
Is this a 70's bass or a 00's PC...or a Moon Lander? (It's a moon lander) - Tigerstrat
