I just ordered one of these a couple days ago for my SMS and MC250. I tried to get something as simple and compact as possible.

I got heavy duty handles on the sides instead of the top handle. Custom sized depth to fit the MC250 width. I'll post photos next week when I get it.

That's pretty cool. I've been looking for something to lug my 250 around in, interested in seeing your pics. What size dimensions did you go with and how do you plan on securing it down?

My system isn't built to be roadworthy... I do have rack bags for it, just no real need at the moment and I like how this looks.

That's pretty cool. I've been looking for something to lug my 250 around in, interested in seeing your pics. What size dimensions did you go with and how do you plan on securing it down?

I went with the standard rack width so it can fit the SMS on top. The MC250 will be mounted with the volume nobs on the left side. The depth of the rack will be 11.5". Since the Mac is 10 5/8" wide, it will sit in there whith a half inch to spare on the front and back of the rack.

As far as the mounting goes this is what I came up with.


I used metal rated epoxy to hold the threaded part to a washer and then the washer to the inside of the Mac.


I'm going to use 1/4" screws to run up through the bottom of the rack and into the threaded thingys that I found at the hardwear store. I thinking this will be pleny strong because the 1/4" screws fit nice and tight into the vent holes on the bottom without having to drill. The epoxy really just needs to hold things in place for mounting and unmounting. The Mac has some aftermarket rubber feet on it that I'm going to leave so it can still vent on the bottom. Shock absorption will be provided by the rubber feet on the bottom of the mac and the rubber feet on the bottom of the rack unit.
