OC-2 settings? What do you guys like?

I've been playing with the OC-2 octave divider, especially into the Mutron, and it's a killer combo, but I'm still working on getting good clean tones from it. What sort of settings are you guys running on yours? Any tips on how to get the most/best sound from this thing, especially into the Mutron?

I just picked one up off eBay, and well it does sound cool picking away at it, but I get a muffled sound when I strum some notes.
Is it defective?

I use it with just the 1 octave down (2nd all the way off) and the DL about 12 o'clock, or maybe a little towards 1. But it could use a little more tweaking.

Oct 1 = 4 o'clock

Its not defective. You cant strum chords with it. Too many overtones. Im sure someone else can explain it better. You would think it would work on the same principal as a twelve string guitar would but it doesn't. The problem I have with mine is it works well on the lower strings but as I get towards the treble strings it kind of disappears. I still have fun with it though on a couple of tunes. Especially with a little grit behind it.

The OC2 is not poly phonic. It cannot do chords. It works for single notes at a time.
Sounds great for single notes at a time. Sounds bad for multiple notes at the same time.

The more bass you put into it = stronger effect
Neck pickup, roll off treble to taste.

One side note... The OC-3 allows you to strum chords.
