The Perfect Gig

It's within a mile of my house. 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month and we play form 6:00-8:00. Great stage with their own PA so very minimal hauling on my part. Pay is not great...but we're getting paid! It's in a very large old building...actually a jail at one time. The acoustics are somewhat problematic but the owner is totally into live music and is constantly making additions to improve the sound. And they're providing a guy to run our sound...we've got to work on them but that will come together.
Now we just have to hold on to it...couldn't be better...or can anybody top that?

Anything within a mile of your house in Montana is a major bonus! Love the regular gigs too. We did about 20 years of a weekly gig, it was a huge help.

I know 6:00-8:00 sounds weird. Not sure how it is for other states but Brew Pubs in Montana can have "tasting rooms". You can have 48 ounces served to you and they have to stop serving by 8:00 pm. So people can get their last one filled at 8:00 and stick around until they're done...but then they have to shut down. It's weird but then they can operate without a liquor license which is expensive and often hard to come by. Beautiful state with some weird rules...but it works great for us.

We've done a bunch of happy hour sets (5-8 or 6-9). Now that we are old f*cks, these work great for us and the folks that come out to watch.
Party up, dinner afterwards. Works great!
