WTB: Hard Truckers JG1 tie-dye grill cover

After the unfortunate fire they had at Hard Truckers it seems they are slow to start making grill covers again, so I'm lookin for someone who has an extra they are looking/willing to sell.

You should just make it yourself. I've had great results from tie dye kits...and its fun

Can anyone describe the Hard Truckers cover? Are they mounted on a wood frame which has magnets? Or are there just four magnets somehow attached to the cloth?

Fair enough, Tidewater...I stand corrected! Also, your grill cover rocks! Considering it was made by the same guy who's done so many iconic dyes for the boys themselves, (speakers, on up to '84 Greek backdrop...and beyond!), I guess it's more of a quibble than a bitch as far as price goes...but the quality cannot be denied!

Tidewater, you mentioned silk, not cotton...I've been wondering the affect on tone with different materials. Does anyone else have any input on the subject (silk, cotton, nothing, etc)? Denver, or anyone else with a JG1, have you noticed any discernible difference with a (silk/cotton) cover on or off?

The JG-1/Fatty and Psychedelic LIb covers are different.

The JG-1/Fatty's are just a rectangular wood frame with the cover material stretched over it. There are four metal cup washers on the frame that give the magnets something to attract. (The magnets are set into the cab itself.)

The Psychedelic Lib covers are a solid rectangle of wood with holes cut out for the speakers. Cover material is stretched over the outside. There are no magnets on the psychedelic lib covers. Instead, there are four screws that go from the inside of the cab through the baffle out into t-nuts that are set in the back of the cover. (From a mechanical point of view, I always thought the t-nuts should be on the FRONT of the cover and recessed into the wood.)

FWIW, the material on the Psychedelic Lib. covers is stretched VERY tightly - much tighter than the JG-1/Fatty cabs, which is relatively loose.
