I'm not sure I hear the C before that first G, but it works fine as a transition chord. I'm on board with the other changes, though.

I seem to remember the fast versions (6/25/85) having a walk up to the G before "Never had me such..." Example: F F# G

What a fun tune to play. I hear one part a little diff then what is posted
Code: Select all
C                                Bb
Great North Special, were you on board?
F                                  Eb
You can't find a ride like that no more
D
Night the chariot swung down low
G           F              Em        Dm
Ninety nine children had a chance to go

should be?
Code: Select all
C                                Bb

F                                  Eb

D

G           F              Am7       F   F#  G
Ninety nine children had a chance to go

Code: Select all
      G        F         Am7      F    F#  G
E-------------------------------------------------------
B-----3--------1---------1---1----1----2---3------------
G-----4--------2---------0---0----2----3---4-------------
D-----5--------3---------1---2----3----4---5---------------
A------------------------------------------------------
E------------------------------------------------------

On the D string it is timed: 1 (Chance) 2 (to) 3 (go) then slide up to the G and back to the C to start the verse
This matches whats going on in the solo so maybe that is why I am hearing it but it works for me.
