I find it very interesting that the most constant thing in JK's rig is the kelley modded blues driver and a tubescreamer... John Mayer also use both pedals and his are also Kelley modded. JM speaks VERY highley abotu the blues driver. I alsmot got one years ago and this makes me wanna look back into it...

Also, JK's guitar is basiclly a beefed up super strat with humbuckers but mostly spilt coil, John Mayer also uses a strat. Im not saying that John Mayer sounds like Jerry or liek JK but before I got into the dead the John Mayer Trio was one of my biggest influences. Its cool to see similar gear but completly diffrent sounds.

I guess it really is all about the hands.... Gear is just for the guitar player and guitar players in the crowd. Most concert goers wouldnt be able to tell the diffrence...

Most overused statement in every gear forum, but only because it holds so much truth.

Ha! I remember that red velvety Foxx Tone Machine floating around the house. I wonder if John ever fixed it up and put it to use?

I've wondered about using a QSC as a power amp for guitar. Has anyone else tried one?

Haven't tried it on guitar yet, but I got a CX1202V for dirt cheap ($175) and I now have a 2200 watt into 8 ohms mono bass amp. Kicks like a big iron Crest and weighs much much less. Definitely overkill for guitar, but if the price is right, more power doesn't hurt.

I do now have an extra Crown XTi4000 lying around.
