I hear you on not modding a vintage piece of gear - I have a Mu-Tron III, Mu-Tron Phasor II, MXR Script Phase 100, an early edition Block Logo MXR Distortion+ (the brown mustard colored one) and an early run MXR M-118 Analog Delay (man does that thing have a unique sound - dark and spooky). I have been tempted to have the true-bypass mod done to these pedals but as I am going to get a Loop Master True-Bypass strip in near future (

But on that reissue MXR M-107 that third cable above the input is for the 9V AC power supply. Makes me wonder why he didn't mod it. But you know, after I saw that pic I noticed that I have my Script 100 set almost the same as his (I have the speed on mine around 2 o'clock and his is at about 4 clock, intensity is the same setting) and I almost never change it. I would bet that he doesn't either. IMO, that pedal is more of a set it and forget it type of effect. With my Mu-Tron Phasor II I fool around with the settings frequently (it has a much wider range and greater depth - 3 knobs - Depth, Rate, and Feedback).
As we are sliding into the topic of vintage/reissue pedal mods, on Garcia's Mu-Tron III to the right of the Mode knob there is a toggle switch labeled IN/OUT. Anyone know what it does?
