I like the "script" 100 that's a box 100 currently on the site home page ebay link .

Repeat question- has anyone made the BYOC Phase Royal? Does it do the Script 100 sound?

It's worth it. Otherwise you will end up wanting to do the mods for script and spending almost the same and have to do the work too.

Do you happen to know someone who does those mods to the newer block logos?

No, sorry man I sure don't. Any good tech can do it. There is a lot if info on the net on how to DIY, also.
I have one that needs the mods too but I didn't want to bother (do to time restraints), so I just bought the MXR Custom shop Phase 90 CSP-101S/SL. It has the original phase 90 circuit design and components. Sounds exactly like the original I bought back in the early 70's and sold to buy the late '80's Block 100 .
One of these days when I have more time I will do the mods on the Phase 100 block because it has more options with the controls, but for now, the original MXR 4 stage phasing circuit in the MXR Custom shop Phase 90 CSP-101S/SL totally nails it!

Cool, thanks. That's interesting about the new custom shop 90. I have a newer block 90 and it doesn't really cut it for the JGB stuff (i.e. Waiting for a Miracle), that' why I've been gearing up to buy a 100. Ideally would like to obviously get an old script version of the 100, but those are a little tougher to come by.

Yes they are! I haven't even thought about doing the mods to my block 100 lately, because the custum shop 90 is so good!

After trolling craig's list and ebay for an MXR phase 90, and deciding I don't want to drop a lot on a vintage old MXR script phase pedal, I came across this cool head to head comparison of the newer MXR Phase 90 vs the script reissue. Pretty convincing for me and has me leaning to just grabbing a new script 90 reissue. Hippieguy, this seems like what you weer getting at in your posts too.

Would love to see more shootout style comparisons with gear and A/B switching back and forth.

The difference in that video is remarkable. The Block is so much more forward where the Script is much more mellow and sounds better to be ears. Much more rich as well. It would be nice to see a comparison between the Script in the original thanks.

There are 3 basic mods that anyone can do to the block 90 to get it to mellow out . R28, C11,C12. Just get in there and lift 1 leg on each of those resistors. It's completely reversible, and takes about 5 minutes from assembly to reassembly.
