Guitar Tab for Picasso Moon

Guitar Tab for Picasso Moon

Postby mtnfisherman » Tue Feb 17, 2009 8:38 pm

I know I'll be excommunicated for this but I'm the only head out there that thinks "Picasso Moon" is a cool song. I always liked the the lyrics. Is there anyone out there that can give me some guidance with tabs or chords for this song? I'm not a professional musician and I'm having trouble figuring the song out. Anyone with some guidance or knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, that song really gives back a lot of memories. It is really a great song. Don't mean to be emotional here, there's just something I remember when I first learned to play Picasso Moon with my guitar. :-)

It's actually a really fun song to play ... it does seem to repel people, though. We played it at a show a while back, and Jimbo (our rhythm guitarist) described it like this: "It was as if we had unleashed a sonic fart from the stage and people backed away." LOL

Here's a brief clip of us brushing up on a verse during a sound check. I love the lead guitar part on it. And Jimbo gets to use the whammy bar.

the nightfall of diamonds version is awesome. jerry's lead is really tight. always thought of this as a summer song for some reason

PD - I think you guys sound great! Could you ask Jimbo to expand on what he's doing please?

I took my best crack at it here: viewtopic.php?f=379&t=2648&p=18597#p18597

When I work through it I play power chords but I see him doing something different which looks more like what Bobby does. and many that whammy is killer!

I'm afraid if I ask him he'll make us play it again ...

But why not get some tips from Mr. Weir himself? I uploaded this one for ya.
