the super distortion is the exact same pickup as a dual sound and he did use the dual sound.

closest to the neck. the dimarzio stamp should be upside down with the wires on the cavity side. physically orientating the pickups like this with the wiring schems will produce the neck side coils active. middle is not as noticeable as the bridge is when the bridge side coil is used.

he stated, when a lefty flips a right handed guitar the wiring is still cavity side which is absolutely true. but you are absolutely correct when placed in a left handed guitar, the dimarzio wiring will be away from the cavity to get the neck side coil active when split .
