Mc250 to speaker. How to? I need help and I'm clueless

This is simple for some but I'm clueless. I have a preamp, a mc250, and a single jbl e120 that I am putting in a cab but have not done yet. Now what? What connectors? I'm not sure what wires go from the mc250 to the actual speaker. I'm not sure what types of cables I need to make it all work. Please help!!! Thank you guys!!!

most likely you'll need 1/4" to rca to get from your preamp to the 250. 250 to speaker could be as simple as wrapping the speaker wire around the terminals and then hook up to the speaker the same as any other amp, soldering or clips...or a 1/4" connection if the cab is prewired.

you could also use spades that crimp onto the speaker cable for a cleaner and easier connection to the 250.

to keep it all 1/4" to 1/4" you could retrofit some 1/4" jacks onto/in place of the 250's speaker terminals.

This helps. I guess where I'm lost is 250 to speaker and doing it right. Waldo usually posts links to the exact parts needed and I'd love that if I'm not asking too much. I'm willing to do it right with connectors and some kind of mounting on the cab so I can easily take it all apart.

It is as simple of finding the neg and pos terminals of your speaker and hooking the neg to the COM screw and the other to the 8 ohm screw (if the speaker is 8 ohm). You will probably only need to use the amp in STEREO and hook to one individual 50 watt amp within the MC250. I use a 1/4" to RCA wire I bought at radio Shack to connect the MC250 to my SMS Classic. If you have trouble knowing which is pos and negative you can use a 9 volt test. when the speaker wires are connected to a 9 volt the speaker cone will either pop in or out. If it pops out, the polarity of the wires is correct to the polarity of the battery ie: wire on pos and neg on battery tells you which is pos and negative when cone is popping outward.

For a clean and quick hook-up, I use the banana plug spade connectors and a banana to 1/4" speaker cable like below. I'd never used the banana plugs before so it took me a bit to figure out exactly how simple this is to hook up. If you go this route and it's not obvious to you, let me know and I'll follow up.

Sorry, I just noticed you want to hook to the actual speaker. My solution is for a cab, thus the 1/4" jack. Anyway, I'll leave the post for others....
