Pardon for not having read through the full 12-page thread before posting. But of my two J-casters, the one on the left with a pair of Fralin Unbuckers and a Fralin Steel Poled 43 cops the tones you're referencing effortlessly (the one on the right has a Super Distortion in the bridge and pair of Super 2's in the middle and neck and sounds more "traditionally" Jerry). Interestingly, myself, despite all the jokes to the contrary concerning Jerry's late era tone, I prefer the Fralin-loaded axe's tones. Unlike others, though, copping Jerry's exact sound is not my personal highest priority (I'm still shooting merely for copping Jon Silberman's sound
). PM me if a sound clip would be helpful.
