"Say you'll.." & "Calliope wail.."

The beginning is as Ed has it in the tab. Then I venture off a bit.

The "Say you'll come back..." part.

I'll use three note voicings for the most part although you can eliminate the middle note as a preference if it suits you. I'm following the Anthology sheet music and filling in the blanks. Also listening to 1/3/70 version

--Say-----------------can---whenever--------------land
--A7-D--A(7)--D--A--D--A(7)----------D--A--G----A--E(7)
e--------------------------------------
b-8--7--5-----3--2--3--5-------------3--2--0-0----
g-9--7--6-----2--2--2--6----------2--2--2--0-0--2--1
d-7--7--7(5)--4--2--4--7(5)--2-2h4---4--2--0-0--2--2(0)
a-----------------------------------------------4--2
E--------------------------------------

--Maybe---------------too----It all-----------you
--A7-D--A(7)--D--A--D--A(7)-------D--E--A-----Em
e--------------------------------------
b-8--7--5-----3--2--3--5----------3--5------2-0
g-9--7--6-----2--2--2--6----------2--4---2--2-0
d-7--7--7(5)--4--2--4--7(5)--3pu4----6--2-2---2
a-------------------------------------
E--------------------------------------

--A-----C#m7-5
e-----5--3------
b----5---5------
g-5h6----4------
d---------------
a--------4------
E---------------

The book shows this voicing for the C#m7-5

e-----0-------
b-----0-------
g-----0-------
d-----x-------
a-----4-------
E-------------

But if you play the A lick right before it I kinda think you have to voice the G note, the 3 on the E string.

The hammers and pull ups are just my preference.

I wanted to put this up as well. I like to follow the melody.

--Calliope wail-------------Zoo-The-------------You
--C#m--F#m---E--G-----D--A--D---C#m----Bm---A----E7
e---------2--0--3--3--2-----------------------
b----2----2--0--3--3-----2--3------------
g----1--2----1--4--4--2----------6-6--4-4--2--2-1
d--2---------------------2--4---------------
a-------------------------------7-7----5----4---2-
E--------------------------------------

-It's really-very--one-or--two-The--------------knew
--D-----A--D--E(7)-A---G---D---E----B-----D------A
e--------------------------------------
b----7--5--7--9----10--12--10-----9---7-7---7-7--5
g----7--6--7--9(7)-9---12--11-----9---8-8---7-7--6
d--7----7--7--9----11--12--12-----9---9-9---7-7--7
a------------------------------11---9-----9------7
E--------------------------------------

The book follows the C#-B-A-Ab bass walkdown for the C#m-Bm-A-E7 chord run.

I add some stuff in the second line, takin some liberties I suppose.

Jeez, major wrong line blunder above in the "Calliope wail" portion. I was checking this over - no doubt again - and notice my screw up. Corrected is in bold. This was wrongly on the b & d strings.

:x

Where are my proofreaders!!!!!

Billbill you are miles away a better guitar player than I am. I love this tab. My problem is I could never figure something like that out man. I really only play with c a g e d formations and never have been able to do the three note and two note chords to fit the melody of the song like that. The more tabs and videos that you post the better. (because of you stagger lee is the best sounding song I can play) There are some really talented guitarist on here but for just sitting down alone with an acoustic and impressing others, you are the man! Keep em coming. Thanks

Thanks for the kind words AugustWest. I tend to be my own harshest critic and as such it's really time for me to churn out some vids. (I know I've said that about a dozen times in the last month or 2 but I really am STILL in the process of getting my shit together in my new abode- a new house carries a lot of upkeep etc)

Thanks-
