Tiger Strap Buttons?

I'm not telling anyone else what to do but I'd double face palm myself if I'd passed on locking strap buttons for my custom one-off Tiger on the grounds that Jerry didn't use those.

Agreed, but most people arent playing expensive replicas, me being one of them. I just thought I would pass the link along since they look pretty close. The only time my strap ever slipped off the buttons, was when i had stock ones on my strat, which are total shit, so i got way bigger ones, and i have not had any problems since. These look like they are pretty good sized, so im gonna get em for my MC300.

Thanks jerry1996x- I bought a set. I've looked at those older Gibson styles before, but these look closer than most. I'm guessing Irwin used an older Gibson style on Tiger.

Jon- My Phiga came with straplocks, but #1- I just don't like the look, and that's part of what I'm after (for better or for worse). #2- if I were playing slash metal and jumping around the stage I might consider that straplocks would be worth it, but most of my playing is sitting at home playing with no strap at all.

Right on! Its definitely a possibility that Irwin used em on tiger, but just from my eyes, they look like vintage Alembics, which are pretty similar, just thinner in the middle, and wider on top.

Buttons arrived- just the right color, almost exactly the right shape, just about 1/3 smaller than the Tiger buttons.

I posted the question on the Alembic board, mica replied back that Alembic never made their own strap buttons. She said she liked the older, larger ones that they used to use (a la Tiger).

Have you looked at the Planet Waves Solid Brass End Pins? I bought a couple sets since they looked very similar with the large flange. I put the other one up on ebay. Not trying promote a ebay listing but thought I would share...

Well here yuh go, now this is not confirmed by anyone, but i cant see it being anything else.

Makes sense, since Alembic was into modding them in the early days. Anyway, I came in for a guitar lesson (the place also has some guitars for sale, usually no names) but whats staring at me when i come in, a 1954 Guild Starfire, exactly like Jerry used in the mid 60s. I could not believe it. It had a paper with a description saying that it was modded, and so on, but i looked, and what do I see but THE strap buttons. I went home and looked it up, and found out all Starfires had them. Look up pics they are exactly the same. I will snap a close up at my next lesson.
