2 questions re JBL cabinets

Hi guys

2 quick questions regarding a cabinet I am building for a pair of JBL D-120s.

1) are red and black reversed on ALL JBL speakers? If not, how do I tell?

And

2) did you front mount the speakers or rear mount them? Also did you use the classic Garcia 4 clamps to the full on 8 bolts?

most all JBL's are wired in reverse. Re-coned jbl's are sometimes wired normally. You can tell by touching the two contacts of a 9 volt battery to the terminals. For a normal speaker, aligning the positive to positive will push the speaker cone forward. The opposite would be true for a stock (reverse phase) jbl.

I don't hear a difference between front mount vs rear mount. If you want you rig to look like Jerry's (which is important to some) front load them with the four mounts. This was done for the wall of sound (huge numbers of speakers) so that they could be swapped quickly when blown. I've never blown a speaker, and never played through the wall of sound.
