Weir '74 Tone

I was watching the 2nd disc from the Dead movie. The Scarlet & Dark Star are just amazing.

Anyway....Weir seems to have a subtle delay (echo). Is that the Eventide? Does anyone know how to get that effect? Will the Axe FX work? I'm not sure I can get that sound using an Ibanez delay.

That sounds like a straight-up slap echo, analog ... there are probably a number of delay pedals that can do it. The AxeFX almost certainly can, you can set it so the echos are as "degraded" as you want, a la a tape echo (Echoplex) with a lot of miles on it, etc.

I think the Boss digital delay pedals have analog settings to the echos are not quite the precise digital sound. A very short delay time (less than 100 ms) and probably zero feedback will get you in the ballpark.

Sounds like a slap echo with a sweet trail-off to me!

Are you hearing a longer or shorter delay trail? I am hearing medium.
