Dimarzio Area 67 - any thoughts?

Dimarzio Area 67 - any thoughts?

I wrote Dimarzio a while back and inquired if they would be willing to make a single coil version of Super II. Here was the response:

Sorry, but this is not something we’re comfortable doing. You might look at the Area 67 (DP419), which is a humcancelling Strat replacement with a sound that is fairly similar to that of a split Super 2.
DiMarzio Inc.

I haven't seen any talk of the Area 67s here. I plan to try them at some point but curious if anyone else has given these a try and what your thoughts are.

I have Dimarzio Area pups in my strat with a '67 in the middle. I don't think it sounds anything like a split Super II but I also don't have an OBEL and Buffer in that guitar so my reference may be off.

I'm building some Warmoth strats, one with a Super II in the middle and a second with an Area '58, both with Waldo's buffer and the OBEL. They should be ready in a week or so and perhaps I can make a better comparison then.
